My name is Cleo (yes, I was named
after Queen Cleopatra – can you see the resemblance? My human followers saw it
too, only they did not know back then I am NOT a girl!) and for the past 15
years I’ve been bringing joy to two humans and doom upon another servant of
mine – feline this one.
It was Friday 13th (of
August, I heard them say – does that make me a lion 😁? neah, I’m
more of a tiger person) when I strategically placed myself in the middle of
a small side road, hoping for the best. And it came in the form of a big
monster on four paws that rolled. The monster blinked his luminous eyes at me,
then yelled at me Beep-beeeep!, but I knew better than to move my
precious behind out of the way. The monster spread his arms apart and then a
smaller minion on two feet came to me, gently lifted me up and then a miracle
happened!
I could not take my eyes off of
her! I did not even feel when the minion laid me down on the concrete fence, or
how long I had been waiting before she approached me. But I knew she was the
one, I knew I had found my human! (To tell you the truth, my belly told me I had
skipped about 3 meals before she came back from that place where humans go
every day, but it was worth the wait. I knew she had noticed me, I knew she was
MINE!)
And then she took me in her
hands, caressed my little head and big ears (they were not that big! She’s not
a cat, what does she know? Pfffff…) The lady of the house, on whose fence I had
been sitting all day, came out and told her she can take me, I had appeared out
of nowhere that morning, I had no owner (owner! humans, what do they know?!)
And she did!
We walked for a while, then we
stopped and played a bit, then he came and she hid me behind her. “Guess what?”
“What?” “Well, you know…” “What have you got there?” “Uhm, nothing, but you
know…” “What do you have there?” “Well, I was thinking…” “I don’t like the
sound of that!” “Well…” “Meow?” His jaw dropped. They talked a while, we went
back (oh no, not the fence again, don’t leave me here!), we stopped in a park,
they talked a little longer, petted me, talked some more – hey, people, stop
talking, start feeding meeeee! Then they touched their noses and he said “Ok,
we’ll take the cat, but if she’s not behaving, you’ll have to find her some
other place to stay”. Yes! I have my own house, and my own people! And hey, I’m
a boy!
Happy as I was, all the way to
the new residence I sang to them from the bottom of my heart while trying hard
to get out of the backpack they had put me in (why, I wanted to see where I was
going!). Then we got to my home, they took me out, fed me well, then I purred
(well, you know, a cat can express some gratitude from time to time, it’s ok),
and went to sleep.
They still say for a week I was
the nicest and the most reasonable cat on Earth (I still am, can’t they see?)
Then it was too late for them, they had already fallen in love with me😉
But about this and all the other
adventures I will tell you some other day, now it’s nap time.
