Meet THE Cat

My name is Cleo (yes, I was named after Queen Cleopatra – can you see the resemblance? My human followers saw it too, only they did not know back then I am NOT a girl!) and for the past 15 years I’ve been bringing joy to two humans and doom upon another servant of mine – feline this one.

GROWN UP CLEO

It was Friday 13th (of August, I heard them say – does that make me a lion 😁? neah, I’m
more of a tiger person) when I strategically placed myself in the middle of a small side road, hoping for the best. And it came in the form of a big monster on four paws that rolled. The monster blinked his luminous eyes at me, then yelled at me Beep-beeeep!, but I knew better than to move my precious behind out of the way. The monster spread his arms apart and then a smaller minion on two feet came to me, gently lifted me up and then a miracle happened!

'WE NEED A MAN AROUND THE HOUSE' ELEGANT TROUSERS AND BOATNECK BLOUSE

I don’t know about you, but I am that kind of strong headed, independent woman that wants to do it all herself, without any help from the others, be it in my career, social or even personal life. I grew up while the feminist trend was still strong, so maybe that’s why. Or maybe it was a desire to show myself that I can do anything and that I do not need outside help for anything – and I was proud about it. But growing up (or growing wiser, ‘cause growing older is out of the question :)) and being involved in a long term relationship for quite a while now, I learnt to appreciate the benefits of having a man around the house. And no, it’s not about carrying heavy stuff, or changing an occasional light bulb, or doing a little repair here and there – all of these I can manage by myself very well, thank you very much. It’s rather the coziness and comfort of knowing you have someone to share your thoughts, your good times and your bad times with, someone to love you and pamper you when you feel like it. Not to mention someone you can lend clothes from time to time, for a quick makeover :)

And about lending, if not clothes, at least ideas of cuts, materials and styling tips from the masculine wardrobe is what this collection is all about. More so this week’s outfit, ‘We need a man around the house’.

5 LESS KNOWN FACTS ABOUT THOMAS O'MALLEY THE ALLEY CAT

COMPLETE NAME:

Better known as Thomas O’Malley, the full name of the male protagonist in Disney’s animation film ’The Aristocats’ is  Abraham DeLacey Giuseppe Casey Thomas O'Malley.

PERSONALITY:

Thomas O’Malley is a streetwise, carefree, Romeo of a tomcat who enjoys a life without rules or responsibilities. However, Thomas has it in him to be also kind, helping, caring and even fatherly and heroic if need be.

VOICE:

Phil Harris, the same actor who gave his voice to Baloo the bear in ’The Jungle Book’, is the one who voices O’Malley as well. This is quite interesting, as these two cartoons are related in a more sensitive way, too: ’The Jungle Book’ is the last animation film in the making of which Walt Disney himself was involved, while ’The Aristocats’ is the first done after the cartoons genius passed away. In light of this fact, it may not be too far-fetched to view these two characters who see the world as their backyard as some sort of Walt Disney’s aliases, a man known for creating new, fun and full of imagination worlds for himself and for all of us.

I'm king of the highway/Prince of the boulevard/Duke of the avant-garde/The world is my backyard

So just try and relax, yeah, cool it/Fall apart in my backyard

'ALL THE WAY TO TIMBUKTU' SHEER PANEL SWEATSHIRT AND COLOR BLOCK MINI SKIRT

This week's outfit focuses on a scene where – sacrilege! – cats are not necessarily the main focus: the fight scene between Thomas O’Malley and Edgar, Madame’s butler.

'All the way to Timbuktu' outfit

After his first attempt to get rid of Duchess and her kittens fails, Edgar has a new idea to send them far far away, to a place where they cannot come back from – and that is all the way to Timbuktu. Edgar’s preparations to rid himself of the cats once and for all, one of the most dramatic and energetic scenes of the movie, culminate with his fight with O’Malley, who almost gets killed with a pitchfork. However, all the animals work together perfectly, and while Roquefort the mouse releases Duchess and the kittens from the coffer, Scat Cat’s band save O’Malley and help Frou-Frou the mare lock Edgar in his packing case. Thus Edgar gets sent to Timbuktu himself.

'I'm sending you to Timbuktu, if it's the last thing I do!'
